Your Introduction to Cisco Routers

Routers are probably one of the most important devices on the internet. Routers make the internet possible as they direct the traffic of information transfered over a network. In order to run an efficent network, one must understand the significance of the Router Configuration.

What you need to Know:

What a Router does
How a Router works
IP Addressing
IP Subnetting

What you need to Have:

Some form of Terminal Emulation Program (i.e. Hyper Terminal) Program
Text-editor, such as Notepad, is helpful

The router is the most important device in a network. At the end of the course, you will be expected to be able to configure five Cisco 2500 Routers in under one hour, including the drawing of the lab topology and the calculation and assignment of IP addresses and subnets.
