Thomson Fire Department is led into action by Chief James R. Sewell, who has served the department for 31 years. Our department has 16 paid professionals on staff and 32 volunteer professionals, for a total of 48 personnel.

We have personnel who have trained as EMT's, First Responders, Scuba Drivers, Extrication and Hazmat. Several of our personnel are also trained as professionals clowns, who are a great asset to our Fire Safety Education Classes. We are members of the Georgia State Firefighters Association, Inc.
